I don't really drink anyway, but I just can't wrap my head around this. How does one get so inebriated that they don't even have control of themselves? Assuming, of course, she isn't just a raging psycho all the time.

Yes. Because that’s a way of getting the driver back into the car and having a nice ride home.
Seriously she doesn’t seem all that drunk. She would class as drunk under a breathalyser but she’s no way drunk enough to not be un-responsible for her actions.
Some of the people seem to know who she is, why are none of them trying to calm the situation down?
And of course the unique way the U.S. is with it’s legal system, she will come back later down the line and sue the driver for his actions and no doubt the poster of the video for posting the video and how it’s ruined her life and suing for damages to get character, blah blah blah, etc...

Whoa whoa whoa. I think it’s pretty obvious the dumbest mother fucker in this entire event is the dude filming vertically.

That driver showed great restrain.
I would have been tempted to drag her out of the car by her hair if she started throwing my shit around like that.

The fact that she’s sober enough to be in seemingly full control of her movements, but she’s still acting like this, makes me think this is more a behavior issue and less a drinking issue.

How much stuff did that guy have in his glove compartment? She just kept finding more and more papers. Must be one large glove box. Hats off to the driver for not decking her. That must have been one strong urge to keep in check.

Alcohol!
Most people have no real idea of how they act when drunk, no matter how much they think they do. I’m sure she probably was thinking “whooo i’m threwing paper, this is so funny, im sew badasss1" - and then when she sees the video, it’s the most pathetic and embarassing thing in her life.

Agreed. If the passenger wasn’t female and on tape, I think this would have ended considerably differently.

That’s not even how Ubers work. You just can’t swoop in and steal one like you can a cab, or a seat on the bus.
Seems that one way to NOT get assulted by an uber passenger is to never to ask them to get out.

Drinking lowers inhibitions so she probably is a spoiled little bitch or having a really bad day. Me I’m leaning towards spoiled phycho but I could be wrong.

We may have to wait a while for the mugshot. She didn’t get arrested :( They didn’t even file a report on this.

Why did nobody pull her out of the car and just hold her against the ground when she started throwing things?
McMike

Because she’s 5'-0" and 100lbs, and will play the victim card like it was the only one in the deck.
Did the driver even know he was being filmed? Would that have changed the way he behaved knowing that her behavior was being recorded?

She may have been suspended from her job, but if she’d gotten arrested (and later convicted) her medical license would be in jeopardy. The driver is the most forgiving man on earth for NOT pressing charges and having her arrested. I’m not sure I’d be anywhere near that compassionate.
The linked story says she got real remorseful after getting stuffed in a cop car and even mentioned her medical license. That’s when I’d have likely said “OH! Definitely arrest her. I’m pressing charges, this will be awesome.” Mostly, I’d want to see what kind of offers came out of her mouth to try to get me to change my mind.

It’s being filmed, though. There’s no way she could get away with playing the victim in that case.

She actually told him to call 911 and press charges a few times in the beginning of the clip.
She also said at one point,
“You don’t know who the fuck you’re messing with right now.”
I would have pressed charges and told her
“You don’t know who you’re messing with right now. You asked for this, and I can follow directions. Anything else?”

Yes, but did he know that? If I knew there were going to be a million witnesses, I would have asked her three times to get out of the car, then yanked her out and sat on her until the police came.

Assuming, of course, she isn’t just a raging psycho all the time.
Not all the time, it’s just a dormant raging psycho waiting for a trigger. This is a lot like the average toddler tantrum where once they get wound up about not having a cookie for breakfast, suddenly everything is wrong with the world.

Its pretty easy to get that drunk if your out with friends, but thats what happens when you drink a lot in short amount of time. It takes a bit longer for the alcohol to take effect so it can sneak up on you if you’ve been pressured into taking shots with the group.
Also in my experience alcohol simply lowers inhibitions and frequently amplifies a persons character. So if the person is a generally kind and agreeable person they’ll probably just be super prone to hugging random people. An dick will become a raging asshole

I am one of those blessed/cursed with the ability to hold my alcohol, so one of my favorite things to do downtown is sit outside my pub around 1am when folks come stumbling out of bars. The people watching is fantastic!
Personal favorite recently was the lady who did a 94 point turn to get her Porsche outta her parking spot, then nailed the curb.

Yeah, I am a happy laughing drunk. But I am usually the idiot tucking everyone in at the party or ensuring they have cabs home. When I outdrank 2 Irishmen in Dublin and hailed them a cab, I realized I maybe could sell my talents.
Living in downtown Florida was excellent for awhile too...now I am in Annapolis and now we have drunks + ice. Man....

Is grabbing an arm and yanking her out the open window considered violent in this situation?

No she’s crazy. Believe me, I have looked into that abyss (another woman, similar behavior). She has (probably normally very well hidden) mental stability issues. That isn’t the drunkenness. That is the kind of crazy you do NOT ever stick your dick into. Or even have in your life.
I’m certain if you were to interview ex boyfriends anonymously, you’d get a string of stories involving threats, harassment, verbal abuse, and general batshit craziness.
